News following the resolution recommendation of the Youth Welfare Committee (JHA)

On 17.05.2024, the following notice was posted on the gate of the outdoor area of our facility PHANTALISA – Space for girls* and young women*. During the course of the day, an employee from the CHIP youth center in Berlin-Kreuzberg also handed out a letter to the project management of the Alia Center for girls* and young women*. In the letter, the Youth Welfare Office informs visitors, parents and interested people that the regular services of these facilities are currently suspended due to the temporary closure of the facilities and provides information about alternative services for girls* in the district. We cannot understand this approach, as a majority vote was taken at the meeting of the Youth Welfare Committee on 14.05.2024, which called on the Youth Welfare Office so that an “extraordinary termination of the service contracts for the operation of the “Phantalisa” and “ALIA” facilities, which was issued to Frieda e.V. by the City Councillor for Youth and Health, Mr. Max Kindler, on 17.04.2024, be withdrawn in order to initiate an orderly procedure.” We are concerned that actions are continuing to be taken unlawfully and overthrow democratic decision-making bodies to the detriment of visitors to the facilities.
